The speakeasy culture has made a comeback over the past ten years, and for good reason. For those of you not familiar with this term, a “speakeasy” was originally an illegal establishment selling alcohol during the prohibition era of the 1930s. Today, the term is more frequently used to described a concept for bars and restaurants with a feel for the mysterious and, sometimes exclusive ambiance. Hundreds of these bars have popped-up throughout North America and Europe, many specializing in cocktail recipes one can only imagine to originate from incredible creativity and numerous trials and errors by trained mixologists.
